FROSTY FRUIT BAR COOKIE

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 Tbs. orange rind
1/4 cup orange juice
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup raisins
1 cup candied fruit
1 cup nuts
 
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and orange rind and juice.
Add spices. Stir in by hand the flour just until mixed. Then add the raisins, fruit and nuts.
Spray your pan with non stick baking spray.

Bake in a 12"x7"size pan.  400 degrees for 10 minutes.

Partially cool. Drizzle a simple glaze on top while still a little warm.  Cool and cut.
This is a very pretty and easy cookie.
